WWE 2K16: 5 Real Life Events The Games Eerily Foreshadowed
1. The Cover Curse
This isn't exactly foreshadowing a future storyline or match result, but it's ultimately the most insane coincidence hanging over the series to date. Since 2004 nearly every star to grace the cover of the video game, will get injured within the year.
Starting at the top, Vince McMahon himself was featured on the cover of the first ever Smackdown vs Raw game in late 2004. Just a couple of months later the WWE Chairman tore both quadriceps entering the ring during the disastrous ending of the 2005 Royal Rumble. The next year John Cena and Batista were the cover stars for SVR 2006 and just two months later Batista suffered a torn triceps. Then it was Triple H's turn to be on the cover of SVR 2007. Somewhat inevitably, Trips tore his right quad in January 2007.
SVR 2008 set a new record with all three cover stars suffering injuries after its release. John Cena would suffer a herniated disc in his neck at Summer Slam 2008. The Undetaker would re-injure his knee and require time off and third man Bobby Lashley was already injured after his Great American Bash 07 match with John Cena.
Undertaker in 2010, CM Punk in 2013 and both The Rock and Daniel Bryan in 2014. Even Randy Orton faced a 60 day suspension in 2012 for his second wellness policy violation after appearing on the cover of WWE 12.
Steve Austin may be the toughest SOB in WWE history, but even he should be p***ing himself by now!
