WWE 2K16 Review: 5 Ups And 5 Downs You Need To Know About

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin Mode

Expectations were rightfully low after 2K15 for the featured Stone Cold Steve Austin mode, but it's fair to say that 2K knocked it out of the park. And then some. Given the short Showcases we were given in last year's game, many expected the Austin mode to briefly skip over some of the Rattlesnake's best and most memorable moments from his main event run in WWE and that would be that. However, we were given an in depth mode that covered every single angle of Stone Cold's career, right from his mainstream start in WCW till his final match against The Rock at WrestleMania XIX. if I had to be picky, I would have liked to have seen the mode start from his WCW days - rather than starting from his 3:16 promo at 1996's King of the Ring - and have all of his top moments as bonafide milestones in the mode, rather than having his Steamboat/ECW Whipwreck rivalries as bonus content. But that said, at least those matches were included and were given a suitable going over rather than feeling like a bit of an afterthought. They've certainly done Stone Cold justice with this mode. Kudos, 2K.
