5. Big Van Vader
The partnership of Vader and Harley Race was a long a fruitful one and made the big man's name, over in the United States in WCW at least. Vader was already a much travelled and huge name over in Japan before he hit the upper echelons of the WCW card in 1992. Vadar was one of the leading heels in the wrestling business during the early 90s and feuded with arguably the biggest babyface that could rival Hulk Hogan at the time in Sting. The 450-pounder actually defeated Sting to land the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 1992, after initially putting The Stinger out of action with 'cracked ribs and a ruptured spleen'. He was a bonafide a** kicker if there ever was one. The Mastodon would continue at the top of the WCW card right the way through till 1995. He would enjoy classic matches and rivalries with the likes of Davey Boy Smith, Dustin Rhodes, Cactus Jack and Ric Flair before signing with WWE in 1996 after another spell in the Far East. Poor booking and an ageing body would stop him reaching the top with Vince McMahon. What a career. Certainly one the biggest starts of the 1990s and one of those Superstars that could kill two birds with one stone in the new title.
