WWE 2K17: 10 DLC Characters We Most Want

Who wouldn’t want to see Owen Hart in WWE 2K17? With Bret already announced on the game’s core roster, Owen’s retrospective addition wouldn’t just give fans the ability to play as one of the 1990s’ most beloved wrestlers, but also recreate his legendary matches with Bret at SummerSlam ‘94 and WrestleMania X.

It’s been a long time since Owen was featured in a wrestling game, and even longer since his likeness appeared in a WWE game. This stems back to his widow Martha’s longstanding problems with the company using his likeness for profit, and while she and WWE are said to have rebuilt their relationship lately, it’s hard to believe their past difficulties aren’t playing a role in 2K’s reticence to add Owen to the roster.

Though not as iconic as his brother, Owen was a hugely important figure for WWE throughout the ‘90s. He’s rarely acknowledged as such, and that’s incredibly disappointing. It’s about time WWE went all-in on fully rebuilding their bridges with Martha Hart, and adding him as a playable character in 2K17 would be a great start in finally acknowledging his role in the company’s success.
