WWE 2K17: 10 Improvements It Needs

9. More Match Types

Any WWE video game should have all of the main match types that take place in the real life WWE ring. That should be a given. Obviously I'm not talking about horrible little gimmick matches that are often seen on RAW or SmackDown, but anything that takes prominence on a PPV should be included. After all, WWE 2K16 has prided itself on being the most realistic wrestling video game of all time, yet the sheer amount of match types that have failed to be included in the new game is staggering. I found this out to my detriment when setting up a simulation for this year's TLC pay per view (which can be seen here), half the match types weren't included so I was forced to work around them. That being said, the ladder match and a couple of others returned in this year's game after being left out of 2K15, hopefully more will be added/returned when 2K17 is released, which would keep the progression of the title chugging along nicely. 2K17 needs to have new match types added primarily, but it also should see a heightened number of competitors allowed in the ring a one time too. The highest you can go on 2K16 is a six-man match - whether that be a tag or singles - and given the amount of four-person stables that are around at the moment that simply isn't enough. Hopefully the developers at 2K will be able to find a formula that keeps all of the greatness from this year's game and allows space for more matches/players to be added.
