WWE 2K17: 10 Most Shocking Roster Omissions

9. Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam hasn’t been featured in a WWE game since 2K15, even though his last run with the company wrapped-up three months prior to its release. Maybe WWE and 2K feel like he needs to spend some more time away from the company before he can be included as a “legend,” but come on: this is Mr. Monday Night we’re talking about here.

Having RVD on the roster would give Paul Heyman’s promotion some much-needed representation in 2K17, but his tremendous ECW success aside, Van Dam’s WWE accomplishments more than justify a spot. He’s a former WWE Champion, a multi-time Intercontinental, Hardcore, and Tag Team Champion, and a Money in the Bank winner. Few others can match the list of accomplishments he racked-up throughout his WWE tenure, and he remained one of the company’s most popular wrestlers until the very end.

More importantly, Rob Van Dam has always been a fun character to play as. His moveset is unique, the R-V-D thumbs are iconic, and his quickness makes him an ideal choice for Ladder and Extreme Rules matches. An ECW-themed DLC pack would be nice, but with no such announcements on the horizon, it looks like we’ll have to do without RVD for another year.
