WWE 2K17 Review: 6 Ups & 7 Downs

3. Backstage Brawls Are Awesome

Fans have been begging for its return for years, and finally, backstage fighting is back in a WWE game. While like anything it could certainly be refined to be better, it's still incredibly gratifying for the most part, with Backstage Brawl allowing players to take their fight all throughout the backstage area while making the use of any weapons that just so happen to be lying around.

It feels like a major misstep that Backstage Brawl isn't available as an online match type (not that the online is really working right now), but at least on its own terms it recalls the brilliant brutality these games have sorely been in need of for a while, and exploring behind-the-scenes is always a lot of fun.
