WWE 2K17 Review: 6 Ups & 7 Downs
1. The Lack Of Voice Acting
In previous WWE games, the presence of voice acting has added an undeniable layer of authenticity, even when it's not quite the best-acted or most convincing it could be.
2K17 sees voiceovers removed almost completely, with the MyCareer mode just featuring a few scattered recordings from the likes of Albert, Triple H and Paul Heyman (basically non-wrestler characters).
Probably the oddest omission is that of Renee Young, who frequently interviews wrestlers backstage yet, like the actual roster, is voiceless and therefore has to contend with some incredibly un-exciting text scrawls.
If 2K wants to properly replicate the WWE TV experience, they desperately need to get the talent voiced-up and on-board next year.
