The wait is almost over!

WWE 2K17 will be available for purchase from October 11th, and fans of the franchise can truly begin planning their play ahead of time now that IGN have finished announcing the names that will make up the roster. That roster will be the biggest in the history of the game, with a total of 119 names rounding it out.

That number will rise when download packs are released as well, but for now there are some very interesting names missing from the list. When a roster list contains names such as Wesley Blake, Typhoon and Bushwacker Luke you'd expect it to be pretty watertight, but a whole host of legends haven't made the cut as of yet.

A total of 25 individuals who featured on WWE 2K16 haven't made this year's edition, with a number of recently released stars among them. More surprisingly, a vast number of WWE Hall of Famers are missing, and whilst they are surely being saved for DLC packs, they are currently conspicuous by their absence.

So who are the 10 most surprising names not announced so far? Let's get to listing.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
