John Cena and Nikki Bella are the couple that are taking WWE outside of the WWE Universe, therefore, they must be considered contenders to be on the front of the company's primary video game. While it might not be popular to the core demographic of nerds (sorry lads) who will buy this game no matter who is on the cover, you've got to look at the bigger picture here and see the benefits the freshly engaged couple bring. That's exposure, if you were wondering.
Nikki and John could flaunt their mugs on the front of this game on all the shows they appear on outside of WWE and potentially reach audiences that may not have been attainable with the use of a bog standard, for the want of a better phrase, WWE Superstar.
The lure of more eyes on the product and potentially more sales might just be too much for WWE to ignore. I mean, there's also the fact that Cena is quite literally the GOAT and Nikki has been right at the top of the Divas ranks in recent times as well mind, don't forget about that...
