WWE 2K18: 10 Superstars Who Could Make Their Franchise Debut
4. Authors Of Pain
Aren't the current NXT Tag Team Champions getting better, and better and better? AOP's last few matches at TakeOver specials, albeit with the likes of DIY, The Revival and TM-61 who could put on good matches with a broomstick, have been barnstorming affairs that have affirmed their credentials to be champions outside of being the biggest and sweatiest tandem in developmental today.
Akam and Rezar are 22 and 23-years-of-age respectively, so don't expect them to be on the main roster any time soon. Tearing things up in developmental is what they need at the moment and working with some of the best talent in the world today on a consistent basis is going to be what's best of them in the long run. However, their placing outside of WWE's main roster at the moment could have a direct effect on their chances of being in part of 2K18's roster.
2K17's roster, NXT Edition exclusives Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax and Apollo Crews aside, had 15 representatives from the yellow brand and while you could argue that if you picked 15 Superstars from NXT's ranks around WrestleMania season to be in 2K18 that the Tag Team Champions should be part of that, it isn't such a certainly. It depends if the likes of The Revival, Nakamura and Tye Dillinger, who were all promoted to the main roster after Mania, are classed as part of the main roster or not. It's all down to timing and which part of the year the powers that be base their rosters on. That being said, if you've held gold and won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic inside your debut year it's clear WWE have enough of an investment in you to include you in their marquee video game.
