On the topic of superstars' attire, this can be changed and edited through the same Edit Superstar mode. The current limitations of WWE 2K17, however, prevent this from being as extensive as it could be. The attire, such as wrestling tights, entrance clothes, boots, head gear, etc., can all be changed, removed, added, or made into different colors. The superstars' face, hair, skin type, skin color, size, and body type, however, cannot be edited.

This does create some issues with accuracy as superstars often change their look over time. The 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith used to have long, braided hair back in 1991. Then he ditched the braids in '94, shaved his hair off '95, but in 2K17, Davey's hair style is from 1997. Say you wanted to recreate his classic SummerSlam match against Bret Hart from 1992, you'd have to do it with short-haired Davey Boy. That's not great.

Accuracy is a key ask of many wrestling gamers and until 2K allows all aspects of a superstar's appearance to be edited - without having to create an entirely new superstar - this option will fall short.
