WWE 2K18: 10 Ways To Make It The Perfect Game

1. Revamped Career Mode

Career Mode should be WWE 2K’s bread and butter, but it always seems to fall short of expectations. The idea of taking your created wrestler from NXT trainee to WrestleMania headliner sounds great in theory, but the execution often leaves much to be desired, with lame storylines, nonsensical booking, and a lack of variety making for a deeply unsatisfying experience.

The frustrating thing is that Career Mode has so much potential, but the developers have never given it the attention it deserves. Adding a wider array of stories and career paths, women’s wrestling, and the ability to play as an existing WWE Superstar would be a great start, but the list of possible improvements is almost endless.

Nailing Career is absolutely vital in creating the perfect WWE game, particularly for those who prefer to play single-player modes. The goal should essentially be to create the ultimate wrestling RPG, giving players the freedom to traverse a number of different stories however they see fit, while developing their character along the way.

2K have tried to do this through progressive stat upgrades and new additions like last year’s flawed promo system, but they’re still not doing enough, and must up the ante in order to maximise this year’s incarnation.
