6. Arena Atmosphere Is Much Better

Overall, 2K have put a shift in when it comes to 2K18's general presentation. The new lighting engine is gorgeous, and it will help the game look more like a real-life TV broadcast than a gaudy digital replica you must squint at to be fooled. Yet again, this is a leap forward for the series.

In 2K's dev diary, the camera pans across Raw's stage to show fans jumping up and down during someone's entrance. It's hard to tell who is making their way to the ring, but the progression in mood and atmosphere is the most stirring thing anyway. This looks seriously good. If 2K can match this across the board, we're in for a treat.

Swirling lights that dip and reflect are the main highlight. For the first time ever, lights don't shine through surfaces regardless of what material they're made of, or at least don't appear to. It's a visual treat to see this overhaul, because it's been a long time in the making.
