WWE 2K18: What The Reviews Are Saying

4. MyCareer Is Better (But Doesn't Feature Women)

WWE 2K18 MyCareer
2K Games

If you played MyCareer in 2K17 and lost interest after a few hours, then you'll be pleased to learn that 2K18's story mode is a little more interesting. The freedom of exploration means your created superstar can wander around backstage starting conversations, kickstarting feuds and forming alliances. It's all very engaging.

One weird omission is the complete absence of women in MyCareer. It feels like a step backwards that you can't create your own female wrestler and have her chase the Women's Titles on Raw and SmackDown. Isn't there a 'female revolution' going on in real life WWE? Why isn't that emulated in the game?

Despite the lack of a woman's touch, MyCareer is a success this year. The backstage areas (including the Performance Center when on NXT) aren't as expansive as the Neighbourhood in NBA 2K18, but it's more freedom than we've had in a WWE game for quite some time now.
