WWE 2K18: What The Reviews Are Saying
5. Glitches Still Happen
The in-game engine 2K use for their WWE video games is archaic at this point. Long time fans will recognise animations from the early SmackDown titles, some of which were released well over 15 years ago. That's pretty inexcusable and screams to us that the developers need to seriously think about a complete overhaul.
If they don't, then the same physics-defying glitches will continue to appear. It doesn't happen much in 2K18, but wrestlers do still clip through the ropes, fall through objects (even floors) and sometimes even teleport without reason to another part of the ring/arena/room like Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear Solid. That shouldn't be happening at this stage in gaming's development.
2K18's online multiplayer suite isn't as glitchy as it was before, so that's a small mercy. Matches over PSN or Xbox Live should pass without incident, although we'll see how 2K's servers hold up when more players join the party.
