WWE 2K19: 10 Biggest Fears Hardcore Fans Have
8. No Graphical Overhaul
That fresh coat of paint 2K gave the graphics in 2K18 was actually fairly minuscule. In fact, had the new lighting system not been cleverly implemented to gorgeously drench character models in shadow, the game would probably have looked near identical to 2K17.
Expect that same lighting system to come to the rescue again this year, because 2K do not have the time for a full-blown graphical overhaul.
This could be a year when models like Braun Strowman are given a new pair of trousers, John Cena has a different-coloured t-shirt on, Alexa Bliss has some new hair extensions and that's it. 2K considered the lighting mechanic a sweeping change last year, so they might not feel inclined to change much this time.
Whilst this worry isn't isolated to WWE 2K as a series (others, like the aforementioned NHL series from EA, rely on minor tweaks to get by yearly), it is rather frustrating. The glitchy, twitching movement 2K18's characters had and the shoddy way hair is drawn have been issues for well over a generation now.
