WWE 2K19: 10 Biggest Innovations We Need To See
10. Removal Of Multiple Superstar Variants As Different Characters
It's up to individuals whether they prefer the Street Fighter-style character select screen from yesteryear or the current list-based system. Both are functional, but they're made a tad messy by including multiple superstar variants as separate options.
There's no need for that.
Whilst it is nice to have five versions of Sting (for example) available, it's unnecessary to give each one, from 1988-today, a different slot on the screen. Surely having one general entry for Sting would suffice, and players could then choose which era or attire they want to play as. It'd certainly be less clunky.
Sting isn't the only one, there are also different entries for guys like The Undertaker, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and more. It's all rather inefficient, and it seems like such a simple innovation to pack each wrestler-specific group together.
