WWE 2K19: 10 Ways To Save Universe Mode

6. Ensure Post-Injury Returns Actually Matter

Injuries are rare in WWE 2K18, and maybe that's a good thing. Had 2K decided to script serious injuries every few weeks/months, it'd become a bit overwhelming. Whilst that's true, there still needs to be some sort of balance and more of an emphasis on making superstar returns seem bigger.

One of this writer's experiences had him tearing his hair out at the missed opportunity for a simple vengeance angle. Seth Rollins was injured during a backstage brawl with Cesaro and missed the Royal Rumble as a result. Naturally, Seth would be angry at his Swiss counterpart for threatening his 'Mania dreams.

This is what Universe needs more of: natural storytelling.

What happened next was mystifying. Rollins returned pre-WrestleMania and resumed his tag-team with Dean Ambrose like nothing had happened. There was no cut scene showing him interrupting a Cesaro match in search of revenge, and the injury was never referenced again.
