WWE 2K19 Roster Reveal: 5 Things You Need To Know
4. Some Heavy Hitters Are Missing
Then, there's the other side of things. Some seriously big names were excluded from 2K's first roster reveal this year.
First and foremost, there's no John Cena. His 2003 model has already been shown off as part of Daniel Bryan's Showcase, but it was expected that the 2018 version would be an automatic. Not in 2K19 it seems, though Cena will be named in part two. The same goes for Randy Orton, who isn't there either.
Maybe 2K are aware they need to keep some heavy hitters back for the next reveal, or perhaps they just fancied shining a spotlight on some of the newer names who will grace the series for the very first time. Whatever their logic, it is strange to live in a time when top stars like Cena and Orton aren't on the initial list.
It's a bit less surprising that 2K didn't name any of the game's Legends. They can easily squeeze some social media buzz out of that after all the current wrestlers in the game are revealed. The same goes for modern-day female heroes Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. They were notably absent too.
