WWE 2K20: 10 Legends Who Need To Be Added

When adding a new legend to the WWE 2K series, sometimes it can prove trickier than it seems when it comes to making a favourite of years gone by be a fun character to play with in the current environment. Case in point, Bruno Sammartino is one of the greatest of all-time, yet, if we’re being honest, who plays as the Italian Superman when they load up WWE 2K19? Few can touch Sammartino in the legend stakes, but his classic moveset just doesn’t translate for a fun gaming experience.

If looking at the female legends absent from the game, Mae Young would be a realistic name to add to 2K20, although she is somebody who again would be dull to play as. So, in need of a classic female star whose career was not so far removed from the wrestling we see today? Instead of Mae Young, Sherri Martel seems to be a far better option.

Whether as “Sensational” Sherri, “Scary” Sherri, “Queen” Sherri, "Sister" Sherri or just plain ol’ Sherri Martel, this Hall of Famer was somebody who was great for her time; that time being the late ‘70s into the ‘80s. Many may only remember Sherri for her attention-grabbing presentation and her time as purely a manager for stars like Ted DiBiase, Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, and Harlem Heat, but Sherri was a great wrestler in her own right and loved to utilise all kinds of underhand tricks.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
