No word on whether or not those ordering any of 2K20's special editions will get to play early or not, but at least everyone can circle 22 October in their calendars. That's when the standard edition will launch, and hardcore fans out there may notice that this is slightly later than usual.
2K19 landed on 9 October 2018, 2K18 on 17 October 2017 and 2K17 on 11 October 2016. Is that enough numbers for you?
The good side to this is that 2K have a tiny bit more time to tweak things in the game and make sure it's not a buggy mess. Whilst this won't stop the gargantuan post-launch patch that video games have nowadays, it should ease some worries that this is a rushed product. 2K are in a groove with releasing these things by now.
Rather conveniently, WWE's Hell In A Cell 2019 pay-per-view takes place on 6 October, meaning the company can get the jump on promotion by showing snazzy ads for the game there. Of course, the impending SmackDown move to FOX also gives them a golden opportunity to capitalise on casual fan intrigue.
