WWE 2K20 Review: 3 Ups & 9 Downs

8. The Gameplay Is Sluggish & Unsatisfying

Far worse than the bad renderings, however, is the core gameplay itself, which actively feels like a regression from last year's game in almost every single way.

There are two main issues: gameplay is too sluggish and slow, and it's just not fun. The new targeting system is infuriatingly fiddly and inaccurate, and though these games have always touted dodgy collision detection, it's never felt this floaty.

You'll frequently miss moves that you should've hit and attack the wrong wrestler on a whim, making multi-person matches a frustrating nightmare in particular.

And if that's not enough, you'll have to listen to the commentary team routinely calling the wonky action without any accuracy whatsoever.

Prepare to cackle maniacally as you're informed that Sasha Banks has victories over superstars such as Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Right.
