WWE 2K21 Early Wishlist: 10 Things Fans DEMAND
10. A New Approach To Commentary
It's Groundhog Day, people.
Commentary in WWE games remains the worst of any sports-related title out there. It's dull to listen to, is riddled with contextual inaccuracies and is actually more of a hindrance to the overall game experience than a help. Change in this department has been overdue since the days when Michael Cole was saying, "Welcome to SmackDown! Welcome to SmackDown!" in Just Bring It.
That was 2001, this is 2019, and gamers demand more. When even four year old golf games have better announcing than pro wrestling ones, there's a massive problem; it's true, the commentary in Rory McIlroy's PGA Tour is way more engaging and informative than that of Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton in 2K20.
2K either have to scrap commentary entirely, or they have to find a different approach that helps announcing enhance matches as it should. Maybe they could capture lines in a more lively atmosphere and have the team record commentary over actual in-game matches so they get a better feel for it.
