WWE 2K21 Early Wishlist: 10 Things Fans DEMAND
8. Pre-Order Bonuses That Don't Seem Cheap
2K20's pre-order bonuses can be recapped as thus: 2K believe it's OK to make fans pay more for a character already on screen (Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend'), and they think that a digitalised version of The Rock's swanky Attitude era wardrobe choices ($500 Shirt Rock) is acceptable content for those excited about the game.
It's not. Not by a long shot.
Making people pay extra for one of WWE's most enticing new characters is poor on 2K's part. Sure, they've got a business to run, and customers will fork over more cash to ensure they can play as the 'Fiend', but it leaves a bad taste in their mouths if all the other 'special edition' toys are so flimsy. A mere silk shirt? Come on, 2K.
Pre-order bonuses should be attractive extras that add value to the idea of buying early, not some sort of cheap withholding scheme that locks current stars or B-level frosting behind a harsh pay wall. What's next? 2K21 doesn't let fans play as Seth Rollins unless they promise to cheer for him through crappy booking and pay a $10 fine?
