WWE 2K21 Early Wishlist: 10 Things Fans DEMAND
7. Showcase Save Points
Though Showcase isn't for everyone, it does offer a nice glimpse back into company lore. The carrot is that you get to play through matches you remember watching, and relive spots from those bouts with controller in hand. It's pretty cool once you get used to the on-rails play style, and it's a nice diversion away from other modes.
Much of that goodwill is lost when one mistake leads to mind-numbing repetition.
Some of the matches in 2K20's Showcase Mode are loooooooong, and there's no mid-match save feature to stave off the looming threat of having to run back through a list of pre-determined moments. Getting to the end of the blistering HIAC 2016 battle between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks shouldn't be so trying on one's patience.
Fun is lost when one minor objective failure necessitates a complete do-over, and 2K have to recognise the flaw in such a rigid system. They could temper this by having the game auto-save after every completed match goal. That'd lessen the repetitive nature of playing through everything again.
