WWE 2K21 Early Wishlist: 10 Things Fans DEMAND

4. Greater Focus On Recent WWE Life Generally

The lure of Universe Mode is that fans can create their own WWE world to play around in. It's a soft approach to 'God Mode', and there is fun to be had provided players overlook the obvious restrictions. In Showcase, WWE history is brought to life, and (again) it's enjoyable despite on-rails constraints.

Both are a poor substitute for content that mimics the television shows people watch weekly.

Many have grumbled about the lack of a true-to-life superstar Story Mode for the longest time, and rightfully so. Back in 2000's SmackDown 2: Know Your Role, Steve Austin destroyed the DX Express and Vince McMahon cut the same promo he did at Backlash that year. It's confusing that 2K don't see why fans would want that kind of immersion or familiarity.

By putting recent, real storylines from Raw, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK into the Universe's cutscene catalogue, 2K would be showing a better understanding of the product. As painful as it was to watch on SmackDown, the 'whodunit' Roman Reigns fluff is also perfect for gaming. What's more, it's something that actually happened on TV.
