WWE 2K22: 10 Hands On First Impressions You Need To Know
8. Allow An Adjustment Period For Controls
This cannot be said enough, more so to series veterans.
Be patient with WWE 2K22. It'll be so jarring at first not to swing the right stick for attacks, and the fact that both heavy/light strikes and grapples are mapped to the face buttons will seem like a step backwards for some. The good news? It isn't, so don't let that pesky comfort zone ruin the experience.
Your first few matches are going to be challenging, but it's worth persevering with what 2K has fiddled about with here. The developers spoke a lot during those gameplay teasers about trying to simplify controls without removing everything that players expect. They've done a solid job of that, being honest.
At first, those coming from the past few WWE games may be lost. Then, a few bouts in, everything becomes much more intuitive and you'll wonder how you ever coped with the old system. Much like character movement, this is something that's needed changing for years.
