7. Breakers Work
Behold the majesty of "breakers".
This is a new mechanic that’s there to stop players from spamming the same attack or strike button over and over. So, if both characters go for the same strike at the same time, then the game cancels that out and forces one (or both) to think on their feet quickly and adapt.
This feeds a sense of variety that WWE games have arguably never had before. You're almost punished for trying to superkick the t*ts off rivals time after time, but not in a cruel way; instead, kicking at the same moment someone else is kicking results in a bit of a stand off.
It'll be interesting to test this out against other humans rather than the AI. That's when the new mechanic should come into its own, because it'll stop (in theory) both of you from exploiting delayed animations by quick-punching/kicking repeatedly.
