Anyone who has ever tried to play recent WWE video games with a younger child would've found one of two things. Firstly, they either spent 99% of the session explaining how to do certain contextual actions (like pick up a weapon, exit and re-enter the ring, hit a finisher etc). Or, they themselves hadn't played since the PS2 days and ended up clueless as savvy kids battered them senseless.
2K22 aims to change that by offering up a range of tailored control schemes that are either complex or simple depending on individual needs. 2K reason that everybody, regardless of age or ability, should be able to pick up and have a good time with the new game. This is great to know.
Some button prompts have been changed, so it'll take veterans a short while to get accustomed to the new layout. This is a guess, but 2K probably also included the option to use 2K20's scheme if that suited you.
