WWE 2K22: 10 New Things You Need To Know About
5. Fresh Character Models
2K have been building character models from the ground up pre-release. That'll be music to the ears of older fans of the franchise who have been playing since the early SmackDown titles on PS1 - it's never sat particularly well that some assets in 2K19 and 2K20 were recycled from those creaking games.
Developers shouldn't be using models from the year 2000. That just shouldn't be happening, but they sort of were. Now, in 2K22, every character has been rebuilt to bring them bang up to date and (hopefully) ensure consistent quality across the board. In other words, John Cena shouldn't look superior to The Street Profits, and vice versa.
It is a bit disappointing to see that crowds look largely untouched in the trailer though. OK, maybe that's harsh. They've likely been reworked a little, but everything in the background seems a little low-res for this player's liking.
That trailer will be an early build, to be fair.
