WWE 2K22: 10 New Things You Need To Know About
4. More Immersive Environments
On the plus side, any clips from entrances shown in multiple trailers have been fab. Pyro pops, smoke hangs around in the air like it should, and the atmosphere generally seems a lot livelier than it used to be. Previously, sets like Raw or WrestleMania (WRESTLEMANIA!) had a flatness to them that downright sucked.
Those days are gone.
There's a short look at John Cena's entrance in the latest video, and it's vibrant as hell. Other examples, like those for Bianca Belair, Rey Mysterio, Bayley and Edge, all zip like proper WWE television at high speed. That, obviously, could change once peeps clap eyes on them for longer than a half-second.
Immersive environments should extend to the ringside area and some backstage rooms too. Having a bit more movement in the background during backstage brawls, for example, would be lovely. Arenas and other areas must look and sound like organic places.
This is especially true on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, where processing power isn't an issue.
