3. A Realistic MyRISE Story
Speaking of MyRISE, it's the replacement for MyCareer and could easily be a ruse. Confused? Don't be - 2K might just have renamed this mode but don't plan on changing much about it. The problem with that is that MyCareer's narratives have been cheesier than a week-old bag of grated mozzarella.
The male and female stories weaved in 2K20 were not relatable for wrestling fans who watch religiously, because they didn't follow patterns seen on weekly WWE TV. 2K's yawn-worthy yarn was very light on emotional weight and heavy on the idea that rookie wrestlers sprint through towards the Hall Of Fame.
Slow down and breathe, 2K.
The real-life NXT 2.0 repackage job has gifted this mode a fighting chance. Debuting on that brand, then working your way up to Raw and SmackDown would be perfectly fine. Just...yeah, maybe don't pretend that CAW #987 is HOF bound after one or two appearances on the WrestleMania midcard.
