WWE 2K22: 10 Things They Must Get Right

One. Last. Chance.

WWE 2K21 should be cancelled.

Recent reports suggest this year's core game will be shelved (an unnamed spin-off is being discussed) to give 2K and Visual Concepts more time, and any self-respecting veteran of the series should be breathing a sigh of relief if it is. The red faces at 2K and VC towers, and the lack of any announcement for 2K21 during WrestleMania season, tell the full story.

They're hedging their bets on 2K22 as a possible relaunch point. If other rumours are to be believed though, that game might already be snake-bitten too; various gaming sites are claiming that there's a chance 2K will skip the forthcoming leap to new console hardware and release the next game in the franchise exclusively on current-gen systems.

The whole thing's a mess, so how do the developers go about rescuing 2K22? It's a tough task, because they've left themselves a mountain to climb here, but it is salvageable. The world has a short memory, and the 2K/VC tandem's misgivings in 2K20 will be forgotten about if they start producing the goods.

They just need some actual self-awareness and to keep things simple...
