WWE 2K22: 10 Things To Know Before You Buy
8. Controls Have Changed
Everyone who has spent a little hands-on time with the new game has said the same thing; controls take a bit of getting used to, because they're pretty different to series norms. There's less emphasis on the sticks than before, and face button mapping for weak/strong strikes/grapples gives everything its proper place.
Your first few matches could be a struggle then.
The weird bit here is that even those who bitched and moaned about 2K20's creaking button layouts will complain about the changes. People don't like change even if it's for the better, at least not initially. It's important to note that you'll need a mental reset for some contextual moments in 2K22.
Thankfully, the game comes with a handy tutorial that leads players by the hand through some of the new mechanics and buttons. That's worth ploughing through so you're not caught cold on even the easiest difficulty levels early on.
Just know going in that controls are way different. Embrace it.
