WWE 2K22: 10 Things To Know Before You Buy
7. Combos Are In
This is the closest WWE 2K has ever felt to a fighting game. No, it’s not quite Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, and you won’t be stringing together combos like Tekken, but follow-up strikes/moves are easier to pull off than ever before. Everything flows better in the heat of the moment too.
The addition of “Breakers” and limitless reversals helps this flow. After a few matches, 2K's new way of doing things feels totally natural - you may even wonder how you managed to live with the clunky, restrictive gameplay of before. This is slick, smooth and enjoyable to play, and that's a big win for the series.
Following up strikes with grapples is fluid as f*ck, for example.
2K's gameplay always churned more than anything. Play this, then pop in 2K20, and it really is night and day. There's a huge difference in overall zip and pace to the way wrestlers move, and that's great to see considering recent gripes about an archaic system.
