6. “It Hits Different” Means Something
Sure, "It Hits Different" just sounds like standard 2K marketing speak, but they’ve put a lot of work into ensuring that strikes, moves and bumps have weight and impact this time. It’s really satisfying to toss opponents around the place, and that hasn’t been the case for years.
This guy was actually numb to the floaty style of yesteryear. He'd accepted it as something the developers weren't interested in changing, and cringed hard when they spoke of simulation over fun gameplay; they didn't outright word it like that, but you get the gist.
2K20's characters skated more than walked - they also seemed to land on top of an invisible layer shielding the ring canvas, and it looked odd. Now, their bodies sink into the mat with a satisfying thump, and every punch/kick/headbutt/elbow/knee seems to land with a devastating amount of wallop.
Jerry Lawler would be proud of these worked punches, put it that way.
