5. A Single-Player Universe
Universe Mode arguably got the least amount of love across 2K's feature set this time. On the plus side, they're letting everyone play the mode as one wrestler. Nah, it's not in the same league as those old 'Story Modes' from yesteryear, but it does scratch an itch.
There's a certain buzz that comes from guiding The Undertaker through match after match and storyline after storyline in 2022. Universe even comes with a pre-packed ability to get Triple H on the blower and ask for fresh angles, titles shots and more.
Hunter does text back, and he often gives your star what he/she wants.
This keeps things ticking along at a nice pace and makes sure you'll rarely get frustrated by sitting around waiting on something to happen. Even those who had long-since given up on Universe (like this writer did) should give it another go in 2K22.
