WWE 2K22: 10 Ways To Successfully Reboot The Series

8. Less Sports, More Entertainment

SmackDown Vs. Raw
2K Sports

There's a fine line when it comes to the WWE 2K games, and it's one which 2K has struggled with in recent years. Adding arcade elements has certainly brought some variety to the franchise, but it's also goofy as hell, especially when DLC revolves around playing as undead or cartoonish revamps of wrestlers like Charlotte Flair and Braun Strowman.

A WWE Battlegrounds-style option wouldn't hurt, while adding "cheat code" changes like giant heads and invincibility will certainly be appreciated by some. For the most part, though, 2K needs to find a way to focus a little less on stamina bars and the like, and instead just make the game fun to play.

It's important to add a sense of realism, but when was the last time you saw Drew McIntyre too tired to pick up Seth Rollins because he's run out of stamina? 2K22 instead needs to make building momentum and gaining finishers something that's enjoyable to do, but doesn't take you out of the moment or make the game feel too much like a simulator...without becoming totally unrealistic.

That's not an easy feat, but leaning more into entertainment will help this franchise moving forward.
