WWE 2K22: 10 Ways To Successfully Reboot The Series

7. Microtransactions We're Happy To Pay For

SmackDown Vs. Raw
2K Games

Microtransactions aren't popular at the best of times, but they could be used effectively in this series of WWE games. Having to buy Superstars who should be made available for free (or just be in the game in the first place) sucks, but there are ways to use these which would add replayability to the title.

Countless times, we've seen wrestlers get new gimmicks right before or after the latest WWE 2K game comes out, so being able to buy ring gear, new titles, different haircuts, appearances, and even arenas would be much appreciated, and keeps the game constantly feeling current and up to date.

Now, some might argue that this eliminates the need to then buy the next instalment, and that won't make business sense for 2K. However, if there's a bigger gap between when each instalment is released and other modes (like the story and online) continue to evolve, that won't matter.

There would also be a cut off date of some sort when these are no longer provided in anticipation for the game that follows this one, but if they're there for a good six months or more, that would be great.
