2K Creative Director Lynell Jinks has confirmed that 2K23's Universe Mode now runs on the same story system as MyRise. What does that mean for the long-standing feature? Well, in short, it should up the cohesion and quality of storylines/feuds in Universe and eliminate prior randomness.

According to Jinks, this is something the team focused on a lot this year. They'd crafted a new way of doing things for MyRise, and started to realise that Universe was a bit out of date. So, they've kissed archaic goodbye and brought the mode in line with everything else in 2K23.

For example, if you want wrestlers in a Universe Mode bout on Raw to shake hands before the match starts, you can make that happen ahead of time. It's a bit of a "God Mode" moment, which is precisely what a WWE sandbox should serve up.

It's really cool that 2K has breathed new life into one of the series' longest-running options.
