3. Showcase Has 21 Matches
Time for a possible negative after all that positivity.
Early reviewers going hands-on with WWE 2K24 were allowed to play through three Showcase bouts from the '40 Years Of WrestleMania' feature: The Ultimate Warrior vs. Rick Rude ('Mania V), Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair ('Mania 39) and Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns (also 39).
2K also confirmed that there will be 21 matches included in the mode. Some folks think that's pretty light considering the mode covers 39 different WrestleMania events. Obviously, it's a lot of work to get each match right and implement the stunning Slingshot Tech etc, but some are nonetheless slightly disappointed by the match count.
WWE 2K14's 30 years of 'Mania retrospective had 47 matches on-disc, for example. No, they didn't have Slingshot Tech or any of the other bells and whistles, but 47 to 21 when there are approx 10 more 'Manias to work with is a huge drop off that hasn't gone down too well.
