7. Intergender Wrestling - And Its Lack Of Limitation

A returning feature to the franchise, intergender wrestling, in WWE 2K25, is free of limitations. Want to have Rhea Ripley decimate 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio? On you go. Fancy digitising the prophesied Nia Jax vs. Dean Ambrose program? Go for it, so long as you find a half-decent create-a-wrestler of 'The Lunatic Fringe'. Booking a Royal Rumble and want to have R-Truth duke it out with Carmella? It's possible.

2K noted in a developer Q&A, via GodisaGeek, that "there are no restrictions on what Superstars can compete in any match", though it is fully a player-made decision. They can incorporate both male and female Superstars, but if they'd prefer not to, that's fine, too. The only exception to the rule is mixed tag team matches, naturally.

There will also be intergender championships available for multi-gendered combat, as well as "other options" for intergender matches that will "unlock the more you play".

The progression to allow intergender matches comes in the wake of WWE having gradually distanced themselves from the strict TV-PG guidelines. WWE 2K14 was the last digitised sports entertainment title to feature intergender wrestling, allowing players to partake in mixed tag team matches, however, disqualifications were issued for male-on-female violence and vice versa. For the last true virtual take on mixed-gender matches, you'd have to revisit SmackDown vs. Raw 2009.
