WWE 2K26: 7 Rumours You Need To Know

6. The Draft In Universe Mode

When it was first implemented in SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, Universe Mode gave gamers the platform to go one better than Vince McMahon (now Triple H), providing total control over matches, rivalries, and individual superstars. It has always been fun, but a chronic lack of attention has left the mode in tatters; each year promising to deliver an in-depth WWE booking simulator, and each year subsequently failing to deliver on that promise.

2K26 is unlikely to provide a platform as blossoming as EWR or Total Extreme Wrestling, but it will reportedly bring back a long-missed feature: The WWE Draft.

Again, this comes courtesy of the reputable Mike Straw, and while no exact details regarding the Draft's presentation are yet nailed down, it is promising to see evidence of WWE, 2K, and Visual Concepts taking player feedback on board. WWE's digitised offerings are annually cited as being the most complete sports entertainment experiences, gamers can buy, yet they fail to incorporate basic elements of the company calendar.

Reintroducing the Draft provides gamers with another novelty feature that harks back to the THQ days of old. Here's hoping it isn't a flop like the reintroduction of Universe Mode promos proved to be in 2K25!
