Xbox 720: 10 Reasons It’ll Win Console War Over PS4

1. Kinnect 2.0

The Kinnect was Microsoft's attempt to cash in on the Nintendo-driven motion sensing gimmick that the Wii popularised, and in spite of its promising technical prowess, we're still waiting for a killer app that really makes it worth having. Rumours suggest that the 720 is going to ship with a Kinnect camera built into the chassis of the console, meaning that players will have it whether they want it or not. What does this mean for the 720? Microsoft must be really confident that they have something special on their hands, and are going to re-invent the gaming wheel with Kinnect 2.0; otherwise they'd be potentially kitting their console out with something that nobody ever uses in a few years time at needless additional expense. Though motion sensing still needs to prove its stripes, the expectation is that Microsoft will aim to legitimise it this time around, and perhaps even change the way we play games as they do. How will it happen? Stayed tuned here on What Culture on May 21st to find out.
