Xbox 720: 10 Rumours We Hope Are True

8. Cloud Media Emphasis

Any Netflix subscriber out there will probably attest to the fact that Cloud Media is awesome. You have your account details, and with the extreme speeds of today€™s internet, you can literally log in on any capable device (consoles, computers, phones!) and stream your favourite media wherever you are. According to CVG, with their Xbox 720, Microsoft are looking to create a sort of multi-channel, multi-location entertainment hub that€™s progressive enough to not actually have a concrete name as yet. So let€™s stick with cloud media for now. The emphasis will be on mobility; for example Xbox 720 will apparently support the swapping of music and video playlists relatively seamlessly from console to phone to computer and so on. Your Xbox 720 entertainment experience will essentially follow wherever you go. I don€™t know how we€™ll ever get any work done. The 360 has already travelled half-way to being a media hub as opposed to a simple console (hell, I game and watch Netflix through mine), so it stands to reason that Microsoft will look to complete the transition with their next console. Sounds awesome, if you ask me.
