Xbox 720: 4 Ways To Guarantee A Good Launch

What Microsoft needs for their next console is a battle plan...

Microsoft€™s Xbox 360 was released with a terribly diminished cast of launch titles with games that collectively possessed less clout than a single retail release of the Halo franchise. What Microsoft needs for their next console is a battle plan, to not only combat Nintendo€™s Wii U and Sony€™s new Playstation but, in addition, place themselves in a market position to reap fear in their competitors. And here's our take on that battle plan, in four key steps...

1. Don€™t Rush the System Out

It should be understood that unlike the current generation where Microsoft had their foot in the door first with the early release of the Xbox 360 €“ a decision that led to a billion dollar warranty plan to compensate for overlooked details in the product's design €“ they will have to contend with an eager Nintendo who€™s Wii U could potentially grab a significant number of sales as an HD-successor to the Nintendo Wii as close as fall of this year! Despite this fact, Microsoft now has an opportunity to construct a device that is complete: A console that doesn€™t receive a reputation for €œred-ringing€ and a system that is reliable, content-complete and stands as a provider of an entertainment library that only they could muster. It was with great disdain to millions of fans that the console manufacturer cut corners in the development of the Xbox 360 only to have to take such major losses in the device€™s future. If Microsoft strives to learn from the history they have cultivated the latter statement should not be an issue of contention in their future console. Click "next" below to read the next entry...
