2. Provide a Solid Launch Lineup
Who on earth placed Perfect Dark: Zero into their new Xbox 360 disc tray and thought to themselves, This is the future"? Looking back on the way that title played, it is no wonder that many gamers eagerly awaited the release of Assassins Creed and Gears of War a year out. That wasnt all, Microsoft also provided their new burgeoning audience of console enthusiasts a number of HD ports of sports titles that featured sweating. Yes, sweating. Probably one of the most advertised aspects of sports titles in 2005 and 2006I remember as a seventh grader walking into then EB Games and grabbing a copy of NBA Live 06 astounded at the impressive size of the image of an NBA player sweating on the back cover. Was this new? Yes. Was it necessary? No.What Microsoft needs to do is provide their existing fans with a lineup that includes first-party titles that emphasize the key strengths of their new console. Of course, Kinect games and the like will be stressed for casual gamers but hardcore gamers should not be ignored. If the hardcore market is ignored, that will spell out the end for the comparatively young console maker.
