XBox 720 Next-Gen Announcement: 5 Things We NEED To Happen

1. Set The Price Tag/Launch Date Window

xbox720new1 Last, and most certainly not least, we need to know when this potential behemoth is going to grace our doorsteps, and about how much currency we'll have to spare to get it. It's the most simple, and yet the most important piece of the puzzle that the audience expects. It's also one of the things that can burn you if you're not careful, as Playstation 3 saw with its initial $600 price tag being turned into an Internet meme as quickly as the enthusiastic presentation of Ridge Racer at the same announcement back in 2006. Pricing woes aside, one could say that the release date is the most important piece of information out of all. After all, no matter how expensive the system is, there's still going to be people that are going to want to save up and purchase it on launch day. The date helps the competition decide how to handle its own plans, as well as helps the public lock in its holiday shopping pledge to one machine or the other. The monetary efforts required to buy the system are important, but the time frame in which people will be able to make sure they have enough money to do so is even more important. What say you, What Culture Republic? Are you looking forward to the new Xbox, or is the PS4 more your speed? Are their any features you think will be confirmed that aren't on the list? Anything that we've mentioned that you think isn't going to happen? Send us your thoughts in the Comments below!

Mike Reyes may or may not be a Time Lord, but he's definitely the Doctor Who editor here at What Culture. In addition to his work at What Culture, Mr. Reyes writes for Cocktails and Movies, as well as his own personal blogs Mr. Controversy and The Bookish Kind. On top of that, he's also got a couple Short Stories and Novels in various states of completion, like any good writer worth their salt. He resides in New Jersey, and compiles his work from all publications on his Facebook page.
