Xbox Game Pass: 10 Best Bethesda Games

9. Fallout 4

Prey game
Bethesda

Restricted dialogue trees aside, Fallout 4 is one of the most expansive titles Bethesda have developed. And despite the admittedly well deserved reputation for not necessarily having the most polished titles post release, Fallout 4 certainly rectified a lot of this, delivery a well-crafted and immersive RPG.

Your character, whoever they may be after you're done creating them, enters the vault with their family (a partner and baby son), making this the first time in the series that we got a proper glimpse at pre-nuked America.

When you are put into cryogenic sleep, then rudely awoken to see your partner killed and child stolen, you must emerge into the blasted Wasteland of the Commonwealth to find your son.

The true delight of Fallout was always exploration and storytelling and both elements are here in strength. Ignore those fans who were less impressed and immerse yourself in this world and you'll find the tremendous experience that Bethesda are famous for delivering.

For a particularly engrossing and affecting experience, play the game in Survival difficulty; this truly brings all the game's mechanics together in harmony.
